Just before the first ever WSL Pe’ahi Challenge, Mark paddled into this wave. He stuck the mental drop and made it to the bottom only to be consumed by the avalanche of water. He dislocated and fractured his shoulder and it would be nearly 2 years before he would fully recover. What a legend!
